Charon was made as part of the Kona Mini Challenge sponsored by the Bloomington Normal Modern Quilt Guild. The Kona Color of the Year 2024 was Julep- this is the mint green background color you see above. I was not part of the BNMQG in 2024 but was allowed to add an entry this year. Unfortunately, the other fabrics in this quilt were pulled from my stash and I have lost the fabric information. This quilt is inspired by Charon - Pluto's largest moon. This quilt is a second in a series featuring Pluto - the beloved demoted plant of our solar system. A variation of the log cabin block was used to create a curved effect. The quilting includes spirals to further emphasize the curved exterior and stars to suggest outer space.
